A long-standing staple of the American West, rodeo’s roots reach back to the 1800s. The confluence of mestizo, Indigenous and Anglo cultures the original rodeos manifested in ranch-versus-ranch showdowns, where riding and roping techniques took center stage and rules were few. Among the pioneers of what would become an iconic American spectator sport, Black ranch owners and hands changed the face of rodeo with groundbreaking techniques and crowd-pleasing flair throughout the 1900s. An homage to America’s first action sport, this Dunk Low's colors and details are inspired by Southwest heritage unique to its Black pioneers. Blazing a turquoise trail, the Dunk "Rodeo" subverts conventions with bold color choices and boot stitch details in a mixed suede and forest leather upper. Accenting the Dunk’s iconic lines with leather piping and chain-stitched branding, dusty earth tones and Old West accents pop with hits of lightning yellow and a red translucent outsole. Riding off into the range, the custom sockliner art depicts a sun-soaked scene of the frontier exploration forged by Black culture and innovation.

The Chameleon Dunk amplifies the symbolism central to her crest design with bold pattern and considered details. The patterned and debossed premium leather upper, white tumble leather underlays, and suede Swooshes emulate reptilian scales with two-tone wear-away overlays that reveal a fuchsia underlayer, individual to whoever skates it. Along with a custom tongue crest and sockliner artwork designed by Alexis, the Chameleon Dunk Low features hidden “AS” branding on the back heel, orewood brown midsole with vintage green tinted outsole, and three lace options, tying together a milestone collaboration.

Born and raised on the Navajo Nation in North Arizona, Di’Orr Greenwood is a renowned skateboarder. Having skated for the legendary Patti McGee’s OGBetty, Apache Skateboards, Propel Skate Academy and Las ChicAZ, she is also a skateboarding instructor in both Southern California and Phoenix, Arizona. Combining her creativity with her love for skateboarding, Di’Orr Greenwood is also known for her one-of-a-kind indigenous skateboard designs. From graphic designing to native cedar wood flute making, her Navajo roots always inform her work. Her latest creative endeavor brings her to work on a Nike SB Dunk High collaboration. Bringing her vision to life, the upcoming shoe is a nod to her roots and skateboarding background. Her collaboration on the SB Dunk High sees a bold use of colors for a lively set of hues. Using turquoise blue and rugged orange to highlight the side panels, the SB Dunk model also features a Decon-inspired design. Exposing the foam tongues and featuring a slimmer ankle collar, the details complement the multicolored accents across the heel, tongue and sole. The shoes insoles feature a graphic of the Arizona valleys an desert landscape, as a reminder of home. Her name is seen adorned on the tongue tags while the shoe sits atop a white midsole and black, gold and turquoise rubber outsole.
