Vans and renowned skate magazine, Free Skate Mag have teamed up on their first footwear collection, dropping next week.
Anybody with an interest in modern skateboarding will already be well aware of Free magazine, the bi-monthly publication that's been opening minds, kickstarting conversations and questioning conformity across Europe and the world since 2015.
Vans and Free decided to rework two of Free’s favourite past and present silhouettes – the Skate Sid and Skate Half Cab ’92. These two classic Vans Skateboarding styles have been given the Free treatment – with the magazine’s signature red ‘dot’ on the insole and outsole of both shoes and a subtle nod on the Half Cab eyelet. The shoes are given a premium execution with full leather uppers – The Sid in nubuck and the Half Cab in suede and feature the full Vans Skateboarding tech feature set – Duracap for durability, Sickstick Rubber for grip and Pop Cush for impact protection and comfort.

Shane O'Neill put the same attention to detail into every aspect of his signature shoe as he does in his almost otherworldly skating. From the low-key perforated ventilation at the toe, to the double lacing option and the no-break-in remastered sole, the Nike SB Shane gets all the details right. Unique design gives you the option to lace your shoes using traditional eyestay or using ghillie loops for extra durability. Auxetic shapes between the midsole and the outsole expand and contract in all directions to help enhance boardfeel and deliver consistent flick. Foam sockliner with a Zoom Air unit in the heel delivers responsive cushioning. Extended rubber toe bumper adds durability to this high-wear area. Slightly higher taping between the midsole and the upper helps create more consistent flick.
The latest and greatest innovation to hit the streets, the Nike SB Force 58 gives you the durability of a cupsole with the flexibility of a vulcanised shoe.Made from canvas and suede and finished with perforations, the whole look is infused with heritage basketball DNA.
