Vans and renowned skate magazine, Free Skate Mag have teamed up on their first footwear collection, dropping next week. Anybody with an interest in modern skateboarding will already be well aware of Free magazine, the bi-monthly publication that's been opening minds, kickstarting conversations and questioning conformity across Europe and the world since 2015. Vans and Free decided to rework two of Free’s favourite past and present silhouettes – the Skate Sid and Skate Half Cab ’92. These two classic Vans Skateboarding styles have been given the Free treatment – with the magazine’s signature red ‘dot’ on the insole and outsole of both shoes and a subtle nod on the Half Cab eyelet. The shoes are given a premium execution with full leather uppers – The Sid in nubuck and the Half Cab in suede and feature the full Vans Skateboarding tech feature set – Duracap for durability, Sickstick Rubber for grip and Pop Cush for impact protection and comfort.

This season Vans is excited to bring another collection to life with artist and friend Mike Gigliotti. As the artist of Lotties Skateshop, Mike’s gritty aesthetic, edgy illustrations, and strong ties to skateboarding’s core provided the perfect collaboration. Made with a cotton/nylon fabrication, the Mike Gigliottoi Volley Short features an elastic waist with a drawcord for a comfortable and adjustable fit, and polyester mesh lining for breathability. This traditional volley short also includes side entry hand pockets, a back welt pocket with a zip closure, a woven label at the side seam, and a solid colorway that provides classic appeal. Model is 6 feet tall and wearing a size Medium.
